Sanger Fish Barrier

2017 Web Site Slides - Sanager

Muddy Creek in Southern Wyoming provides excellent habitat for cutthroat trout and a number of other native species within the Little Snake River system. These fish are threatened by a variety of invasive species, and there is ongoing work to help protect the native species by gradually removing the invasive species from the system. As part of this project, OneFish designed and oversaw construction of a fish barrier on Muddy Creek at the Sanger diversion.

    • Provides a barrier to upstream passage for a variety of fish species at a wide range of flows

    • The barrier is expected to be temporary, and the design allows for restoration of upstream passage in the future

    • Project completed in 2016
