2017 Web Site Slides - Poose Creek

Poose Creek is a tributary of the Williams Fork River in Northern Colorado, just north of the Flat Tops Wilderness near the town of Yampa. Poose Creek supports a strong population of native cutthroat trout that is of significant conservation interest to a variety of natural resource agencies and non-profit organizations. OneFish designed and oversaw construction of a fish ladder to provide upstream passage through a concrete culvert underneath a forest service road.

    • Vertical slot fish ladder

    • Integrated into existing concrete culvert with no impact on road or culvert operations

    • Project completed in 2013

    • 2015 study showed 100% of the cutthroat trout that reached the culvert successfully traveled upstream through the ladder
